Sand – Brand Identity
Sand is a production company within film and still photography. Sand wants to challenge traditional film making by working more digitally than competitors and with smaller, cross-functional teams.
When we took on the task to create a new logotype for them, we wanted to enhance the origin of the company name, which is an amalgamation of the founders’ names – Mattias Andersson and Henning Sandström. The result? A minimal and graphical logo based on this unique word play.
When it came to working with the rest of the identity, we realized Sand already possesses a strong visual base deeply rooted in their film photography and cinematic expression. Therefore, we chose not to go for an identity that takes over but rather complements this grand imagery. By working typographically and with a sparse color palette, the overall identity harmonizes with the wider cinematic feel.
